A NEWBORN baby was found dead in a basket on Monday morning, April 24 along the road of Dacudao, Barangay Paciano Bangoy in Agdao District, Davao City.
The residents were shocked when they saw the baby that was already shriveled up and is starting to decompose.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident.
The barangay is currently tracking the residents who are pregnant in the past few days.
Footage of the closed circuit television (CCTV) camera of the nearby establishments are also being traced to ascertain the person who placed the baby in the basket.
Authorities are calling for parents to be responsible enough to face the obligation they have entered into.
Authorities are also urging that if parents cannot handle the responsibility, they can instead surrender the baby to a government agency such as the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and not resort to abortion.
Meanwhile, the body of the baby was brought to the nearest funeral parlor. JPC
