Former Davao City Administrator Zuleika Lopez has been designated as the Chief of Staff of Vice President Sara Duterte.
The announcement was posted on Duterte's Facebook page on Tuesday, July 26.
Lopez had served as city administrator when Duterte was city mayor in 2010 to 2013. She was reappointed in 2016 when Duterte was also re-elected as mayor of the city.
She has not issued any statement of her appointment as of writing.
Lopez, notably, represented the camp of former Davao City Mayor Duterte in the transition meeting with the camp of former Vice President Leni Robredo in early June this year for the transition of powers and duties.
Lawyer Francis Mark Layog, former chief of staff of Mayor Sebastian Duterte, is currently the City Administrator.
Former Davao City officials such as City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) Head Generose Tecson and Presidential Commission For The Urban Poor (PCUP) Commissioner Norman Baloro were also announced to join the Office of the Vice President.
Tecson is heading the OVP satellite office in Davao City, while Baloro is working under the Public Assistance Division.
In a previous radio interview, the Vice President revealed that four high-ranking city government heads had joined the OVP, but she also declined to name them. As of writing, her camp has not issued any statement on the names of appointees. RGL
