TO PROVIDE more access to information and provide immediate help by using telemedicine, the Polaris Dawn Program donated two Starlink Internet service kits to the House of Hope Foundation within the Southern Philippines Medical Center compound, Tuesday, April 18.

“This is very crucial for us because we are able to access (Internet), when we have Internet access we are able to refer difficult cases to experts who will guide us on how to manage our patients better,” Mae Dolendo, House of Hope program director said in an ambush interview. April 18.

“Using strong Internet connection through telehealth will be very beneficial and we’re very fortunate that they came over to Davao to personally deliver these [internet service kits],” Dolendo added.

Meanwhile, Jared Isaacman, mission commander of Polaris Dawn, said they are working together with the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a Tennessee-based pediatric treatment and research facility, to help support a vision advocating improved quality healthcare and faster information transfer.

"What this [program] enables is, bringing connectivity all over the world, whether it's telemedicine, bringing doctors and medicine... to bring some of their expertise here and vice versa," Isaacman said.

"My opinion is, a sad reality is that many of our kids all over the world don't know that they can benefit from telemedicine... many kids don't even get the diagnosis they need to get the treatment," he added.

One of the goals of the Polaris Dawn program is to conduct human civilian space flight missions while "continuing to raise funds and awareness for important causes on Earth".
