KIDAPAWAN CITY - Authorities have arrested the suspect in the alleged rape and murder of a Grade 2 student at 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 2, in Cotabato.
The suspect has been identified as Alias Jun, a 21-year-old relative of the victim, Alias Lyn-lyn, residing in Matalam, Cotabato.
According to a report from the Matalam Municipal Police Station, the victim was buying vinegar at a store when the suspect dragged her and forcibly took her to a secluded area near their farm.
The suspect claimed he was intoxicated and unaware of his actions towards the minor. Tragically, Alias Jun strangled the victim to death.
Although the suspect initially managed to escape, he was swiftly caught by the Matalam Police after being identified by witnesses as the last person seen with the child.
Alias Jun is currently detained at the Matalam Police Station and is set to face charges in court. EEF
