A TOTAL of 2,064 families or 6,931 individuals in Davao City have evacuated their homes as of Thursday, April 7, 2022, due to threats of flashflood brought about by a low pressure area, according to the City Social and Welfare Development Office.
The evacuated families and individuals came from barangays and residential areas near flood-prone areas and some are near the Davao River banks. These include Barangays Maa, Tigatto, Buhangin, Waan, Matina Crossing, 5-A, 8-A, 10-A, 9-A, 19-B, and 76-A Bucana.
Based on initial reports, 221 families or 578 individuals have evacuated to Escoda Elementary School in Barangay Maa, while 88 families or 305 individuals are at Maa National High School.
In Barangay Tigatto, 132 families or 619 individuals are at JuliVille Gym, 39 families or 149 individuals in DMMA Gym, 26 families or 121 individuals in Purok 5 Gym, 200 families or 450 individuals in Uyanguren Gym, 80 families or 294 individuals in Lapanday.
Eighty-four families and 322 persons evacuated to Barangay 5-A Gym, six families or 17 persons at Buhangin Gym, and 121 families or438 persons evacuated to El Rio Gym.
In addition, at the IC Chapel in Matina Crossing, there are 513 families or 2,027 individuals, 655 families or 1,394 individuals in Barangay 8-A Covered Court, 93 families or 192 individuals at Barangay 10-A Platinum Gym, 282 families or 1,295 individuals at Barangay 76-A SIR Gym, and 128 families or 192 individuals in Barangay 10-A.
While in Barangay Waan, 60 families in Sto. Niño, 56 families or 194 individuals in Camamara, and 49 families or 160 individuals in Dampa Gym.
