THE Malagos Slaughterhouse noted a higher collection in a span of two months as the market expands to other areas in the country beyond Davao City, according to ti the City Economic Enterprise (CEE) on Monday, April 3.

Based on the City Treasurer’s Office report, provided by CEE to SunStar Davao, the collection for Malagos Slaughterhouse from January to February this year is P2,615,813.19.

CEE head Mackie Macalipes said they earned the collection significantly faster within the said period compared to the fourth quarter of last year, which collected P3,378,457.66 from September to December 2022.

This improvement in revenue is attributed to the expanding market since the slaughterhouse is now a Double-A facility, which means it can serve clients outside of Davao City.

“Ang mga ginakatay didto na karne, pwede na siya ma-consume or deliver sa other areas in the country kay tung una, ang limitation nato is within Davao City lang (The meat from the Malagos Slaughterhouse can be consumed or delivered in other areas in the country unlike before when we were only limited to Davao City),” Macalipes said.

At the same time, Macalipes said they continue to promote the Malagos Slaughterhouse as an accredited and complete meat facility. He said that since the facility has been accredited, the number of customers also increased.

For this year, the total collection target for Malagos Slaughterhouse is P31,100,000.00. The CEE head said they are confident it will be achieved.

"Ang license to operate nato na Double A accreditation na gikan sa National Meat Inspection Service, truly helped sa atoa sa Malagos Slaughterhouse kay nag increase ang atong mga client,” he said.

On the other hand, the collection for Roxas Night Market is P1,240,996.40 for January to February 2023. From September to December 2022, the collection was P2,480,710.20.

Macalipes said the collection for Roxas Night Market is stable since they only collect from the night market renters which have not changed since it reopened on March 2022. ICM
