MTE highlights local quality products

IN time for the month-long celebration of the 86th Araw ng Dabaw, the Mindanao Trade Expo Foundation, Inc., (MTEFI) opened on Wednesday, March 1, the Mindanao Trade Expo (MTE) 2023.

Centered on the theme “Buy Local, Support MSMEs,” entrepreneurs across Davao Region display their various products to the public. The expo features a wide variety of products from bags made out of plastic straws, handcrafted accessories and woven linens, wellness essentials, up to the mouth-watering goodies.

Offered within reasonable prices, the expo is expected to draw locals and tourists who are looking for unique and quality products by Davao’s homegrown enterprises.

This trade fair is in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Agriculture (DA), Philippine Exporters Confederation Inc. (Philexport) and Ayala Malls Abreeza.

“MTE 2023 remains optimistic for the year. This continuing recovery will feature thriving MSMEs with different product collections to offer ranging from home and furnishing, fashion accessories and wearable, arts and crafts, novelty items, beauty and wellness, processed food and fresh fruits and vegetables,” MTEFI president Rosevic Del Rosario-Cembrano said.

Participating exhibitors are the United Farmers Association of Tamayong (UFAT), Durian Industry Association of Davao City (DIADC), Mahalyang Vegetable Farmers Consumers Cooperative (MAVEFCONCO), Don Carlo Integrated Farm, Raiza's dried Fish, Palmes fresh eggs, Davao Region Mushroom Association, Rural Improvement Club (RIC) of Calinan, Macatabo Vegetable Farmers Association (MacVeFA), LGU Panabo- Kadiwa Operators and other Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Mindanao organized by other participating agencies.

The expo will run until March 5, 2023. It will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 09:00 p.m. at the Activity Center of Ayala Malls Abreeza, Davao City.
