THE new City Health Office (CHO) of Davao City will be more accessible and convenient for Dabawenyos seeking assistance, said Covid-19 Task Force spokesperson Dr. Michelle Schlosser on Wednesday, November 16.

The new CHO headquarters, located at a brand new building in Bonifacio Rotonda, will have both open-air and fully airconditioned waiting areas, transaction areas, and offices to make visitors more comfortable.

Schlosser said the new office is also organized per department and service offerings to keep transactions flowing and everything in its palace, unlike in the old, non-airconditioned building in Pichon Street where employees and visitors crowded the small facility.

“The services will not change, the same lang siya. Ang kalahian lang gyod is mas comfortable siya (The main difference is the new building is more comfortable),” Schlosser said during an interview with the Davao City Disaster Radio.

Schlosser said the public can request health cards, avail of the same CHO programs, and visit for check-ups at the new headquarters. Aside from that, the new building will also house Davao city’s stockroom and vaccine room called Botika ng Bayan.

However, Schlosser emphasized that services at various District Health Center or Offices are still available and are more complete than medical services at the CHO.

“Health-wise, and in terms of social services, we are ready for everything right now,” Lopez said.

According to CHO head Dr. Ashley Lopez, CHO can cater to up to 70 walk-in clients per day at the new building.

The 900-square meter CHO headquarters was inaugurated last week, November 11. It is a six-story building with a budget of P90 million for its completion. ICM
