THE Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Legends: Return of the Rivals will once again bring excitement to its Dabawenyo fans as Ginebra San Miguel and Purefoods face off in a highly anticipated game on May 15, 2023, at the University of Southeastern Philippines in Obrero, Davao City.
The basketball exhibition game marks the return of the most well-known players in PBA history, including Jojo Lastimosa, Alvin Patrimonio, Jerry Codiñera, and Benjie Paras, who will once again showcase their skills on the court.
The PBA Legends Foundation, the main organizers of the event, are composed of previous PBA players such as Atoy Co, Philip Cezar, Alvin Patrimonio, Jojo Lastimosa, among others.
Aside from making it a charity event intended to help ex-PBA players, the foundation would also want to provide a meaningful experience to PBA fans around Mindanao through this event.
Rodrick Masa, one of the event organizers of PBA Legends and Wishdate, said that they previously had a successful event in Smart Araneta featuring four teams - Alaska, San Miguel, Purefoods, and Ginebra.
Masa added they also want a similar experience for Dabawenyos and for the Mindanawon community.
“We want the experience to be seen and felt by the Dabawenyos or the Mindanawon crowd since this is usually held in Manila,” Masa said during the AFP-PNP Press Corps on May 10.
Meanwhile, Ger-Lhou Duriga, one of the event organizers of PBA Legends, advised fans to purchase their tickets early to avoid the rush.
Tickets for the exhibitional game are now available online and in select ticket outlets which are available at the SM Tickets website (smtickets.com) and SM ticket outlets Nationwide.
The ticket pricing starts from P550 for the Upper Box Ringside, P850 for the Upper Box Courtside, P1,725 for Patron Ringside, and P1,940 for Patron Courtside. The games start at exactly 5:00 P.M. (Justine Kaye B. Lu, AdDu Intern)
