OVER 120 exhibitors took part in the Philconstruct Mindanao, a three-day exhibit and trade show series aimed at providing opportunities for businesses in the construction industry to showcase their latest technologies, products, and innovations.

The Philconstruct Mindanao 2023 Expo stands as one of the largest construction trade shows in the country. The event is from September 7 to 9, 2023, at SMX Lanang.

Organized by the Philippine Constructors Association, Inc. (PCA), the event represents a display of dedication and collaboration towards advancements in the construction industry, as stated by a high-ranking official from the organization.

Engineer Ronaldo "Junn" Elepaño, PCA president, emphasized that events like this align with the growth of Mindanao's construction sector, owing to the various initiatives, investments, and resilience of the armed forces. He also urged the construction sector to incorporate green technologies into their materials and equipment and invest in workforce training.

"This event has always been a cornerstone of Davao's construction industry, showcasing our commitment to its advancement and fostering regional collaboration," Elepaño said during his speech on September 7.

Meanwhile, Engineer Antonio Uy, chairman of Philconstruct Mindanao 2023, noted Mindanao's construction sector's remarkable growth and transformation. He expressed that the event is an opportunity to collaborate with new stakeholders, discover new technologies, and create job opportunities.

"The construction has played a pivotal role in changing the landscape, driving economic expansion and giving jobs to local communities," Uy said.

The event also serves as a platform for various brands and suppliers to showcase their products, ranging from air ducts, components, construction chemicals, equipment (both light and heavy), building supplies, gensets, hand tools, lighting, paint, electrical items, PVC pipes and fittings, welding products, automobiles and trucks, and even insurance.

Philconstruct also features educational seminars and workshops, including sessions by the Philippine Green Building Initiative (PGBI) on topics like "Enhancing Direction Towards Climate Change Mitigation and Community Welfare," "Formworks Design and Basic Calculation," and "Essentials of Supervisory Leadership," among others.
