THREE mathematics teachers from the Philippine Science High School - Southern Mindanao Campus (PSHS-SMC) in Barangay Sto. Niño, Tugbok District, Davao City were recognized as Outstanding Teacher Coaches in the 2022-2023 Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad (TIMO) Heat Round.
According to TIMO's congratulatory letter dated November 14, PSHS-SMC hauled 41 awards -- 5 golds, 7 silvers, 21 bronzes, and 8 merits.
Jarwin Eli J. de la Victoria, Ryan A. Ocumen, and Harold C. Soriano were awarded Outstanding Teacher Coach for their exemplary performance as math mentors in TIMO 2022-2023.
“The PSHS curriculum is implemented well by competent teachers. Thus, it is no surprise that PSHS scholars are gaining attention internationally. Other factors such as regular training of scholars coupled with the robust support from the parents bring positive confidence to our scholars when competing abroad or elsewhere,” said Dr. Jonald P. Fenecios, PSHS-SMC campus director.
