The Philippine National Police (PNP) has made significant strides in upholding discipline and accountability within its ranks, as it announces the resolution of 4,082 cases involving its personnel, spanning from January 1, 2022, to August 30, 2023.

These cases encompass a range of penalties imposed that includes 935 dismissals from the service, 242 demotions, 1,850 suspensions, 159 forfeiture of salary, 680 reprimands, 110 restrictions, and 106 cases of withholding of privileges.

This significant step underscores the PNP's unwavering vow to ensure that its personnel adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. It leaves a powerful note that those who engage in unlawful activities and misdemeanors will face the appropriate consequences, including dismissal from the service when necessary.

PNP Chief, Police General Benjamin C. Acorda Jr., commented on this milestone, stating, "The PNP is strengthening its Internal Disciplinary Mechanism and intensifies efforts in reiterating the Doctrine of Command Responsibility and Police Operational Procedures to every member on the ground. We are bringing across our message to the people that the PNP leadership strongly condemn any wrongdoing of its few misguided members."

He also emphasized the PNP's continuous cleaning up of its ranks and purging of few corrupt police officers, as there are more honorable policemen remaining.

The PNP remains steadfast to maintaining the trust and confidence of the Filipino people. As it continues its mission to serve and protect, the PNP aims to build a force that truly exemplifies integrity, honor, and dedication. PNP-PIO/ PR
