Police car driver nabbed for drugs

A DRIVER of a police mobile patrol is facing charges before the Davao City Prosecutor’s Office (CPO) on July 30, Monday, after he was caught selling illegal drugs at Barangay 25-C, Davao City.

Charged for violation of the Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is Joseph Espellogo Medel Jr., alias Toto, 25, from Cabantian in this city.

The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) reported that Medel was arrested in a drug bust at 5:05 p.m. Saturday, July 28, conducted by the Sta. Ana Police Station at corner Fatima and Pag-asa streets in Barangay 25-A.

Medel was arrested after he handed to the poseur-buyer one elongated plastic sachet containing suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P500.

Confiscated from the suspect were three rectangular transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and one P500 marked money.

The suspect, who has been categorized as high value target on second level, and the evidence which is worth P3,000 are now with the Sta. Ana Police Station for proper disposition. (ICT)
