Police nabs 2 teenagers for selling drugs

TWO teenagers were arrested after they allegedly sold illegal drugs to an undercover operative on Monday evening at Purok 2, Barangay 76-A, Bucana, Davao City.

Around 12:40 p.m. of December 3, personnel of Sta. Ana Police Station conducted a drug bust with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Davao Region targeting an identified drug peddler named Jam-Jam Hasim Catingan, 18, male, single and a resident of Purok 1, Barangay 76-A, Bucana, Davao City together with his minor cohort, 17, male single and a resident of Mabini, Boulevard, Barangay 31-D, Davao City.

They were apprehended for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act.

During the operation, authorities confiscated from suspects a piece of elongated transparent heat-sealed plastic sachet suspected to be shabu, P500 bill used during the transaction, four pieces transparent heat-sealed plastic sachet suspected to be shabu, and one metallic eyeglass case.

Catingan was reported to the police through Sta. Ana Text hotline supported by the information from concerned citizen after a series of surveillance conducted with the help of Barangay Information Network and other station’s intelligence network.

After the surveillance, they confirmed that the suspect was actively peddling illegal drugs within their area.

“He was categorized as Street Level Target and also responsible on proliferation of illegal drugs at the place and his apprehension will paralyze if not terminate the circulation of drugs within the area of responsibility of Sta. Ana Police Station,” the police report read.

Meanwhile, the suspects, together with the pieces of evidence with an estimated street value of P2,500, are now under the custody the Sta. Ana Police Station.
