NO ADDITIONAL residents were evacuated and brought to a temporary treatment and monitoring facility (TTMF) a week after the hard lockdown was imposed in Purok 8, Barangay Tomas Monteverde in Agdao District, a Davao City official said.

Public Safety and Security Command Center (PSSCC) head Angel Sumagaysay told SunStar Davao on Monday, August 24, that their office, which is currently manning the area, has not reported any new Purok 8 residents who manifested any symptoms related to coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Purok 8 of Tomas Monteverde is currently placed under a 14-day hard lockdown since 1 p.m. of Monday, August 17, due to the increasing number of confirmed cases recorded in the area.

Based on their monitoring, Sumagaysay said they have not reported any untoward or any problem since the hard lockdown was imposed in the area.

Sumagaysay said in a previous report that 66 Purok 8-residents were evacuated and brought to the TTMF after testing positive for Covid-19.

The official said contact tracing is still ongoing, and the City Health Office (CHO) is now scheduling a swab testing for the residents.

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio reported that 417 individuals are affected by the lockdown. They have since been receiving food ration and psychosocial intervention from the local government.

As to the possible extension of the purok's lockdown, Sumagaysay said this will depend on CHO's contact tracing efforts.

"Depende siya sa result sa ipahigayong swab testing sa City Health. Didto nato na ma-determine. Sila nasab ang magdecide (The extension would depend on the result of the swab testing. CHO will be determining it, and will decide if there is a need to extend the 14-day lockdown)," Sumagaysay said.

Meanwhile, based on their monitoring, the PSSCC official said they have not reported any untoward or any problem in the implementation of the lockdown.

He also said that neighboring puroks within Monteverde are also reminded to stay away from the area while the lockdown is still in effect.

No word has also reached from his office if there is also a plan to expand the lockdown to neighboring puroks or even the entire barangay.

Monteverde, based on the August 22 to 27 Covid-19 Risk Assessment Map issued by the local government, is now the lone barangay placed under "very high risk area" due to its significant Covid-19 transmission.

Based on the Department of Health-Davao Region's (DOH-Davao) profile case, Monteverde has a total of 76 total confirmed cases. Of the 76, 61 are still active cases, while 15 already recovered. The 15 who recovered were discharged between August 18 to 22.

Fourteen of the total cases are children 12 years old and below. All are active and asymptomatic. All have been exposed to a confirmed case.

The youngest patient, tagged as DR-1735, is a one-month-old female who had an exposure with a confirmed Covid-19 patient. Another Covid-19 patient is a four-month-old female who was also exposed to a confirmed case.

The oldest cases are DR-1828 and DR-1892. Both are 69 years old and male. Their history of exposure is currently under investigation. All of them are asymptomatic.

Tomas Monteverde's "patient zero" -- tagged as DR-1317, 56 years old, female, and still an active case -- infected DR-1379, 29 years old, male, and has already recovered.

There is still no information if patient zero infected other cases in the area.
