DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio urged Dabawenyos to report violators of firecracker ban especially during Christmas and New Year celebrations.
“I would like to remind everyone na aduna tay firecracker ban dinhi sa Davao City (I would like to remind everyone that we still have firecracker ban in the city),” the mayor said in an interview with SunStar Davao Monday, December 17.
“I’d like to solicit the support of all Dabawenyos, if you see someone during the celebrations na nag-violate, you just take a picture or a video and give it to us,” she said, adding that the city will then take appropriate measures on the violation committed.
Duterte-Carpio further said that these firecrackers are a waste of money which could still be used for much more necessary things.
Meanwhile, with Christmas Day coming, the lady mayor invited all the Dabawenyos to participate in the activities prepared by the city for free.
“I would like to remind everyone that Christmas is the time for the children. We should make Christmas a very happy memory for children and I would like to invite everyone to go around the activities prepared by some offices,” she said.
“Libre na tanan so all you need to do is come, bring the children and enjoy the activities prepared by the city government of Davao,” she added.
