DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said she is willing to spend own money to accompany her father, President Rodrigo Duterte, in his overseas visits to keep him from any kissing scandal.
"Sa sunod mugasto ko sa akong kaugalingong kwarta aron mapaniguro na wala napud siya'y mahalukan (Next time I will spend my own money just to make sure that he (the President) will not kiss anybody)," she said.
Duterte-Carpio, in her speech before the ground breaking ceremony for the Davao Occidental capitol, said that when she heard that her father kissed a woman publicly during his Seoul state visit, she thought of writing a letter to the Office of the President-Presidential Management Staff to send her invitation to such events.
"This is to make sure that Kris Aquino and Mocha Uson will not clash because of the President," she said.
She added that she was actually invited to that visit in Korea but she declined in the end because of the limited budget for the contingent. (KVC)
