Scheduled power interruptions in Davao City on August 7

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct a series of scheduled power interruptions on Thursday, August 7, 2025, in various parts of Davao City to facilitate line clearing and system maintenance.

The first set of interruptions is necessary for line and vegetation clearing along Guerrero Street and for the normalization of the Ponciano Substation. To minimize downtime, affected loads will be temporarily transferred to a nearby substation, resulting in a 45-minute power interruption anytime between 1:00 a.m. and 2:30 a.m.

Areas affected include:

  • Mabini Street to parts of Circumferential Road, including Magallanes Street to Bacaca Road

  • Central Bank, Davao Doctors Hospital, Limso Hospital, Brokenshire Hospital, and DMSF

  • Jacinto Street (UnionBank area) to J. Luna Street, including J. Dela Cruz Street

  • Land Bank R. Magsaysay Branch to Bohol Trading

  • Obrero areas from Lacson Street to Cervantes Street, Nicacio Torres Street, Nidea Street, Sobrecarey Street, Loyola Street, and E. Jacinto Extension to Nissan Bajada

Also affected are portions of Mabini Street, F. Torres Street, DCNHS, J. Camus Extension, Marfori to Maa Bypass Road, Riverview Road, San Pedro Hospital, Buhangin (from Camella Northpoint to Orange Grove Hotel), J.P. Laurel Avenue, Bacaca Road, Diversion Road (up to Jade Valley entrance), and Earth Grain Inc.

A separate five-hour power interruption will follow from 1:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. for customers in the PRU Life UK corner Guerrero Street and J. Luna Street, including portions of Suazo Street and Chavez Street.

The return of loads to their normal setup will require another 45-minute power interruption anytime between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., affecting the Jacinto Street-UnionBank to J. Luna Street area, including J. Dela Cruz Street, and from Land Bank R. Magsaysay Branch to Bohol Trading.

Lastly, a nine-hour power interruption is scheduled from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to facilitate line works in Gumalang, Kibalang, and Lacson, Calinan. Areas affected are from Lacson, Calinan to Buda, Marilog, including Gumalang, Suawan, and Tamugan.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience and assures customers that efforts will be made to restore power within the schedule or earlier. Restoration may be delayed in unforeseen circumstances.

The public is advised to take extra caution near activity areas, follow safety signs, and be mindful of heavy equipment operations during the scheduled works.
