A TRAGIC motorcycle accident claimed the lives of two relatives at Purok 8, Barangay Baracatan, in the Toril District of Davao City on Sunday morning, September 17.
The incident occurred around 5 a.m. and gained widespread attention after a video of the accident went viral online, revealing the harrowing fate of the two young men as their motorcycle was thrown into a concrete canal.
The Toril Police Station identified the victims as 20-year-old Jeboy Tocaling Lopez, driving the motorcycle, and his 15-year-old passenger, Jay Ar Lopez, both residents of Purok 6 in Barangay Baracatan.
According to the police report, the two were on their way home when the driver lost control of the motorcycle, leading to a tragic accident in a culvert.
The impact was so severe that both individuals died at the scene. Their bodies are at the Villa Funeral Parlor in GTH McLeod, Toril, Davao City.
In light of this heartbreaking incident, the police are reminding everyone to prioritize safety while driving and to exercise caution to prevent accidents. JPC
