ANOTHER barangay official was killed by unidentified assailant on Thursday, June 14, at Provincial Road, Sitio Kabangcalan, Purok 5, Barangay Sto. Niño, Carmen, Davao Del Norte.
Based on the information provided by Police Regional Office (PRO)-Davao Spokesperson Police Chief Inspector Milgrace Driz, the victim was identified as Santos Sentelleas Samoranos, male, 65 years old, married, a barangay kagawad and a resident of Purok Lasuerte, Barangay Lapaz.
Based on the initial investigation, the shooting incident happened around 10:45 a.m. Samoranas was riding on his Baja kawasaki single motorcycle, from his residence heading to Poblacion, Carmen, Davao Del Norte, when two unidetified male suspects suddenly appeared and fired the victim several time using a still undetermined caliber of firearm.
The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds on his body and head. He was brought by the Municipal Rescuer Ambulance to Carmen District Hospital but victim was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Authorities are still conducting investigation and manhunt operation to identify the suspect.
Driz said the possible motives they are looking at are either personal grudge or work-related. (JCR)
