

MACO, Davao de Oro — Therma Marine, Inc., a subsidiary of Aboitiz Power Corporation, has been lauded by Maco, Davao de Oro as its top real property taxpayer and second largest business taxpayer for calendar year 2025, highlighting the company’s substantial contributions to the municipality's local revenue and overall development.
The citation was presented during the Business and Employer’s Forum and BCMI General Assembly organized by the local government unit of Maco. The event honored organizations that played an important role in the municipality's progress through tax payments.
“Since 2010, our mission has been to help power the progress of Mindanao by supplying reliable electricity to the grid. We are proud to contribute to Maco’s progress through our responsible operations and by being a good corporate citizen. We are honored to accept this award as it affirms our support for the community," said Therma Marine - Maco Facility Head Benedicto Dejan, Jr.
Therma Marine operates two 100-megawatt oil-fired power barges strategically located in Maco, Davao de Oro (Mobile 1) and Nasipit, Agusan del Norte (Mobile 2). As of 2025, Therma Marine is a vital contributor to Mindanao's power stability, supplying 40% of the contingency reserve requirement and 28% of dispatchable reserves.
