AFTER her defeat in the race for Davao City’s first district representative, Mags Maglana said that there are still many paths to achieving a high quality of life, good governance, and a peaceful society.

"Our dreams for the sustainable development of Davao, a good quality of life, a government with integrity, consistent defense of the environment, and a peaceful society persist and can still be pursued in many ways," Maglana wrote in a Facebook post on May 12, 2025.

She thanked the first district residents of the first district for allowing her to offer voters a choice and emphasized that victory comes in different forms.

Maglana also expressed confidence that Dabawenyos are ready to hold elected officials accountable for their performance and promises.

On May 13, 2025, incumbent first district Rep. Paolo “Pulong” Duterte was officially proclaimed the winner with 203,557 votes. He defeated Atty. Margarita “Migs” Nograles, who garnered 49,186 votes, and Maglana, who received 3,530.

Meanwhile, Bernie Al-ag, who challenged Sebastian “Baste” Duterte for the vice mayoralty, expressed gratitude in a Facebook post for being allowed to run.

"Daghang salamat sa higayon na magpa pili isip inyong bise-mayor (Thank you very much for the opportunity to run as your vice mayor)," he said.

Earlier, outgoing Mayor Sebastian Duterte was proclaimed vice mayor after winning 651,356 votes, far ahead of Al-ag’s 78,893 and Oyie Barcena’s 5,219. RGP
