A COLLISION between two motorcycles claimed the life of a 64-year-old rider on Carlos P. Garcia Highway at 5:58 a.m. on January 2, 2025.

Due to severe bruises, wounds, and injuries across various parts of his body, the 64-year-old motorcycle rider, identified as "Ed" from Cabantian, Davao City, was declared dead.

According to the police report, the two motorcycles involved were driven by "Joni," a 38-year-old from Digos City, and "Ed," 64, from Cabantian, Davao City.

Initial investigations revealed that Joni’s motorcycle was traveling along the highway from Panacan, while Ed’s motorcycle was coming from Mamay Road, heading toward Cabantian.

At the intersection, the two motorcycles collided, causing injuries to both riders.

The Central 911 Paramedics team immediately responded and transported the drivers to the hospital. However, at 7 a.m. on January 2, Thursday, Ed was declared dead.

The Traffic Enforcement Unit of Davao City is continuing its investigation into the incident. JPC
