BARANGAY Captain Robert Olanolan of 76-A Bucana expressed deep concern over former President Rodrigo Duterte’s current condition and health issues.

"Nakita nako na namayat si Tatay Digong, unya subo kaayo na pamalandungon nga diin man makauli ug matagaan siya'g panahon ug higayon," he said on Friday evening, July 11, 2025,  right after the prayer vigil at the Open Court Seawall in Bucana, Davao City.

The vigil marks four months since Duterte’s detention.

Organized by Olanolan, the vigil featured candle lighting and collective prayers for Duterte’s well-being as he remains held at the ICC in The Hague.

Olanolan also lambasted the former president's arrest, which he deemed a political attack.

"Konsyensya lang unta isip usa ka president sa Pilipinas," he said, taking a swipe at the Marcos administration.

The barangay leader also urged critics to stop the political persecution.

"Tama na unta ning pamultika," he added.

Meanwhile, he also reminded supporters to be wary of sharing Duterte's "fake" photo bedridden in a hospital.
