KAPA claimed to be a church within the church. But as to what church they belong, they cannot specify. And as to how long will they remain as a church within the church, we don’t know. What I only know for us human, is that human within the human (a fetus) would normally stay in the womb for only about nine months.

If Kapa claims to be a church for tax exemption purposes, the International Revenue Services (IRS) draws a distinction line for us to distinguish between a Church, a Religious Organization, and the Faith-Based Non-Profits.

Based on the IRS standard, Kapa is not a Church. Because, it has: (1) No recognized creed and form of worship; (2) No definite and distinct ecclesiastical government; (3) No formal code of doctrine and discipline; (4) Members are still associated with any other churches or denominations; (5) No ordained ministers who have completed specific studies; (6) No literature of its own; (7) No established places of worship; (8) No regular congregations; (9) No regular religious services; (10) No schools that educate its ministers, among others.

In short, Kapa belongs to a Faith-Based Non-Profit but not a church.

A fish is caught by its mouth, as the saying goes. Apolinario in many instances announced that Kapa has a lot of investments and assets ranging from fishing vessels, mining, and rice fields, among others. Where are these ventures? Do these businesses bear its corporate name? Most of these businesses bear dummy persons as incorporators. That by the time Kapa cannot make good of the promised blessings to the members; these businesses will not be obligated to recompense the members because documents will show that these businesses are not owned by Kapa. And members executed a Deed of Donation and not buying stocks from Kapa to invest in these corporations.

The SEC, the City Government of Davao and other government agencies warned the public, after finding reasons to consider that Kapa is in “Ponzi scheme” or a scam. Because even if this pattern has been discovered long before the money was used as a medium of exchange, 30 percent increase per month had never been implemented by banks and lending institutions as this will lead to economic imbalance.

Kapa poses as a church to evade from the burden of taxes as they rake-in money from its members. The choices of words were so tricky that the ordinary townsfolk can easily be deluded and the laws be sidestepped.

Let me present a conservative sample computation if Kapa has one million member-donor at an average of P10,000 donation from each member. The total amount donated to Kapa is P10 billion, multiplied to 30 percent. The total blessings payable to the donors is P3 billion per month. Do you think Kapa’s investment in many silent businesses can raise P3 billion for a month? Come on willing victims!
