THE Police Regional Office-Davao Region (PRO-Davao) announced on Friday, May 2, 2025, that a ₱1 million reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and identification of the suspect behind the April 29 shooting of Board Member candidate Audrie Perez in Tagum City.
The bounty, offered by outgoing Davao del Norte 1st District Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez, aims to help solve the case and bring justice to the victim, according to PRO-Davao Director PBGen Leon Victor Rosete during a press conference at Camp Catitipan, Davao City.
Perez, 43, who is running for a Board Member seat and works as Alvarez’s executive assistant, was shot while riding his motorcycle near Delfina Village, Barangay Magugpo North, Tagum City. The gunman, wearing a denim jacket and cap, opened fire and fled on another motorcycle.
Tagum Police Chief Col. Wildemar Tiu said Perez was rushed to Tagum Doctors Hospital and is recovering from multiple gunshot wounds. Tiu also noted the attack occurred at night with no witnesses, making the investigation difficult.
Panabo City Rep. and gubernatorial candidate Alan Dujali condemned the incident, urging fellow candidates to promote peace as election day nears.
“Politicians running for public office must help maintain peace and order, especially as tensions rise ahead of election day,” Dujali said. Perez is running under Partido Reporma, while Dujali and congressional candidate De Carlo Oyo Uy represent the Lakas-CMD party.
Police continue to seek leads in identifying the suspect. DEF
