PCG floating assets for BSKE

THE new Commodore of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)-District Southeastern Mindanao, Rejard V. Marfe has committed to allocate floating assets for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election (BSKE).

During a media interview on Tuesday morning, October 10, at the Sangguniang Panlungsod, Marfe announced the commitment of all available Coast Guard floating assets, including two capital ships from Japan and France, to assist in transporting election paraphernalia for the October 2023 elections.

“Gi-commit natu atong mga floating assets para musuporta sa this upcoming election sa October 30 (We committed our floating assets to support the Comelec during the upcoming election on October 30)," Marfe said. 

He underscored the need for transportation support for election supervisors and stated that the PCG is fully prepared with ships ready for sea, fueled, and staffed with trained personnel. Marfe expressed confidence in their readiness for deployment.

He also said Marfe there are six PCG stations and 39 substations strategically located in the Davao Region. These stations are fully equipped and staffed by PCG personnel.

“Si Coast Guard kay permente naka heightened alert especially with the upcoming election yung Barangay and SK election this October 30, so ang atoang stations, substations, even atoang mga floating assets naka heightened alert sa karun (The Coast Guard is on heightened alert, especially with the upcoming Barangay and SK election on October 30. Our stations, substations, and floating assets are all on heightened alert),” Marfe said. 

He paid a courtesy call to the 20th City Council, aiming to strengthen the partnership between the Council and the PCG. The discussion revolved around various programs, plans, and shared concerns, with a primary focus on ensuring the public's well-being. RGP
