
THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (Pdea) Davao Regional Office in coordination with the Philippine National Police (PNP) led the destruction of seized and surrendered illegal drugs worth ₱27,585,366.60 on June 18 at the Cosmopolitan Funeral Homes in Davao City.
The P27.5 million worth of drugs included 3,409.9231 grams of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) valued at ₱23,187,477.08; 26,828.0029 grams of marijuana, valued at ₱3,219,360.35; 126 pieces marijuana plant valued at ₱25,200.00; and expired medicines valued at ₱1,153,329.17.
The destruction ceremony was spearheaded by Pdea Davao Regional director Edgar T. Jubay. It was conducted in the presence of key community stakeholders including Hon. Marie Fe D. Orig-Maloloy Executive Judge of the Regional Trial Court of Davao del Sur.
Also during the activity were representatives from the Department of Justice, Public Attorney’s Office, Police Regional Office 11, National Bureau of Investigation, Environmental Management Bureau, local elected officials, civil society organizations, and members of the media.
According to Regional Director Jubat, the ceremonial destruction underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to its anti-drug campaign and aims to dispel public doubt regarding the alleged recycling of confiscated drugs by law enforcement agencies. PIA DAVAO
