THE Philippine Health Insurance Corporation – Davao Region (PhilHealth-Davao) disbursed approximately P900 million in claims to members from December 27, 2024, to January 31, 2025.

PhilHealth-Davao Vice President Harvey Carcedo reported that P928,081,781.90 was released in timely payments for valid claims. He assured members that the agency remains committed to working with healthcare providers to address payment delays and streamline processing.

“Sa aming mga miyembro, patuloy po naming sineseguro na tuloy-tuloy na magagamit ang mga benepisyo sa PhilHealth. Sigurahin ang inyong kalusugan, alamin ang inyong mga benepisyo, at gamitin ang inyong PhilHealth kung kinakailangan (At PhilHealth, we ensure continuous access to benefits. Protect your health, know your benefits, and use your PhilHealth when needed),” Carcedo said during the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas forum on February 19, 2025, at Apo View Hotel.

Nationally, PhilHealth disbursed P20.1 billion during the same period.

Carcedo also highlighted 13 expanded benefits since September 2024, including coverage for hemodialysis, Konsulta Package, dengue hemorrhagic fever, Covid-19 inpatient benefits, kidney transplantation, ischemic heart disease, peritoneal dialysis, cataract extraction, outpatient emergency care, preventive oral health services, physical medicine, rehabilitation, assistive devices, pediatric optometric services, and case rate adjustments.

To improve services, PhilHealth removed the single-period confinement policy for greater flexibility and extended coverage to solo parents and their dependents under Republic Act No. 10165 (Foster Care Act of 2012).

Additionally, the agency is strictly enforcing the No Co-Pay Policy for patients in the ward or basic accommodations to eliminate financial barriers and ensure full access to coverage. RGP
