DAVAO Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) has announced scheduled power interruptions from June 6 to 9, 2025, to conduct essential repair and maintenance work in parts of Davao City and Davao del Norte.
The planned outages are part of efforts to ensure continued service reliability and safety while allowing for critical system upgrades and infrastructure improvements.
June 6: Pole repair in Sto. Tomas
On Friday, June 6, power will be interrupted from 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. to repair a damaged pole near the Sto. Tomas Substation. Affected areas include the Sto. Tomas–Carmen Road, particularly near Marsman in Tibal-og, La Libertad crossing, Bobongon, and Balagunan.
June 7–9: Panabo substation decommissioning
A second series of outages will support the decommissioning of the Panabo Substation, with rerouting efforts in place to minimize long disruptions:
June 7 (Saturday): From 11 p.m. to 11:59 p.m., power loads will be transferred to a nearby substation.
June 9 (Monday): From 1 a.m. to 2 a.m., the system will return to its normal configuration.
Affected areas include those covered by the San Vicente Substation extending to Sto. Niño and Carmen, including Quezon Street, Gaisano Mall Panabo, Roxas Street, Daang Maharlika Highway, Panabo Wharf, Tadeco Road up to Nanyo, and parts of New Visayas, Rachoville, Southern Davao, and Mabitad Extension.
Additionally, a four-hour outage is scheduled for Sunday, June 8, from 12:01 a.m. to 4 a.m., affecting parts of Daang Maharlika Highway in Panabo, from SeaOil near San Isidro Street to Panabo City Hall.
June 8: Line upgrading in Matina
To upgrade power lines in Matina, brief switching operations will occur on Sunday, June 8:
A 15-minute transfer of load from 1 a.m. to 1:30 a.m.
A 15-minute normalization between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m.
These will affect areas along Diversion Road, from Marapao Car Wash to Dahlia’s Soup No. 5.
A longer 6-hour outage will also occur that day from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m., impacting Matina Pangi Road, Matina Crossing, and Matina Aplaya Road up to Shanghai Hotel Inn and nearby areas.
