“Naa lang ta diri sa area, diin sa kung kinsa kadtong mo-donate, i-diretso lang sa atong team naa lang diri sa site (We are here in the area, so if anyone wants to donate, please hand it directly to our team here on-site),” Pablo said, as they continue distributing the victims’ immediate needs.

She added that based on data from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the estimated damage from the fire reached ₱1.7 million. No human casualties were reported, but some gamefowl and pet dogs died in the incident.

A total of 14 houses were totally damaged, while one was partially damaged.

The fire reportedly started on the second floor of the house of one of the victims, identified only as alias Olive.

According to Olive, her children noticed the smell of smoke. When they went upstairs, they saw that the Wi-Fi router’s wire was already on fire. They tried to put it out by pouring water, but the flames spread quickly, engulfing the nearby houses.

The incident affected 15 families or 52 individuals.

Financial assistance for the fire victims is now being processed. JPC
