RMC, CBNHS rule SBP Davao U16 3X3

RIZAL Memorial Colleges (RMC) and Crossing Bayabas National High School (CBNHS)-A earned spots in the national finals after topping the SBP U16 3x3 Davao Regional Qualifiers held Sunday, April 6, at the Martin Hall, Ateneo de Davao University Jacinto campus.

The RMC Bulldogs, coached by Prince Macavinta, edged Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) Blue Knights, 16-14, in the boys' final. Jeremy Pinoon, Angel Gabriel Sampaga, Jhasper Pantonial, and James Ghiane Sinco led the Bulldogs to victory.

RMC beat the Holy Child College of Davao (HCCD) Reds to arrange a championship match against AdDU, who overcame Davao City National High School (DCNHS)

CBNHS-A, led by coach Dessie Repompo, defeated AdDU-A Lady Blue Knights, 21-14, in the girls' final. Szabrylle Gia Horiguchi, Rocel Lyd Balbuena, Alexa Lian Cinco, and Anica Kim Baritua delivered for CBNHS.

In the semifinals, CBNHS-A cruised past Davao del Norte before colliding with AdDU-A, who ousted DCNHS-A.

Both teams will represent the Davao Region in the SBP U16 3x3 National Finals on May 2–3, 2025, at Araneta Gateway Mall 2 in Quezon City. They are set to travel to the competition with all expenses covered by the SBP.

“They will face champions from 15 other regions,” said Atty. Francis Calatrava, regional technical head of Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) Davao.

Twenty teams joined the boys division and 16 competed in the girls category. Teams came from Davao City, Maragusan, Laak, Tagum City, Davao del Norte, Nabunturan, and Davao de Oro. MLSA
