Salvane, Elijeran clinch 42K titles

RODEL Salvane and Jocelyn Elijeran topped the men’s and women’s 42K categories, respectively, in the 27+6 Health Marathon held Sunday, June 15, 2025, in an out-and-back course starting at SM Lanang.

Salvane, who hails from Bukidnon, clocked two hours, 44 minutes, and 50 seconds (2:44:50) to outrun Davao City’s Elmer Bartolo (2:46:28) and Jave Calolot (2:49:10), who finished second and third in the men’s 42K division.

In a Facebook post, Bartolo wrote, “Thanks, Lord, sa kusog ug lahutay ghatag nimu ganeha basig nalaspag pag-abot ug last 10k gtagaan jud ko nimo kusog para mahuman akong dula  (Thank You, Lord, for the strength and endurance you gave me earlier. Even though I was exhausted during the last 10K, you still gave me the power to finish my run).”

In the women’s race, Elijeran of Manila led the field with a time of 3:18:06, beating Yahchevah Daligdig (3:30:32) and Nelly Joy Palorma (4:13:53).

Fritz Lantaco captured the 33K men’s title in 2:03:05, edging out Fodin Vilchez (2:03:39) and Richeel Languido (2:12:59). In the women’s 33K, Mary Angelie Mag-aso topped the race with 2:47:45, followed by Rachel Rellin (2:54:45) and Leah Rapal (3:04:53).

In the 21K division, Lloyd Prado secured the men’s title with 1:17:22, ahead of CJ Estilloso (1:23:10) and Eliezer Cariñosa (1:27:40). Lyka Catubig of the University of Mindanao dominated the women’s race in 1:32:47, while Aslia Hadji Nassef (1:45:36) and Cesar Lynne Tair (1:47:48) completed the podium.

Corsino Satinitigan Jr. ruled the 10K men’s race with 33:29, beating Ken Jay Moreto (34:44) and Den Mark Risma (35:11). UM decorated runner Kate Duffy Gel Mcdowell(42:32) finished first in the women’s 10K ahead of Julia Laranjo (47:00), and Dyrenne Jayne Lago (48:28).

In the 5K race, Jomar Bulat-ag and Palarong Pambansa 2025 gold medalist Mary Jane Pagayon shared top honors.
