THE Jesuit Athletic Meet (JAM) 2025, a biennial tradition celebrating camaraderie and excellence in sports, is set to bring together student-athletes from Jesuit institutions nationwide from January 29 to February 1, 2025, at the Ateneo de Manila University.
This year's tournament will showcase the vibrant spirit of sportsmanship as participants from Ateneo de Manila University, Ateneo de Davao University, Ateneo de Naga University, Ateneo de Zamboanga University, and Xavier University come together for an inspiring competition.
Student-athletes will compete in basketball, volleyball, football, and futsal.
The event underscores the importance of embodying Jesuit values—discipline, teamwork, humility, and service—both on and off the field.
JAM 2025 is more than just a showcase of athletic prowess; it is a celebration of the shared Ignatian heritage that unites Jesuit institutions nationwide. At its core, this biennial gathering is rooted in the principles of St. Ignatius of Loyola, emphasizing holistic development—mind, body, and spirit. It provides a space where student-athletes compete, grow in character, and deepen their connection to the values that Jesuit education upholds.
Beyond the thrill of competition, the event serves as a platform for fostering friendships among students who share the same Jesuit mission despite coming from different regions and backgrounds.
Through the camaraderie built on and off the courts and fields, participants form bonds that transcend the boundaries of their schools. These friendships reflect the Ignatian call to embrace diversity and inclusivity, nurturing relationships that contribute to greater unity.
JAM reinforces the commitment to becoming "men and women for others," a hallmark of Jesuit education.
The games are about winning and playing with integrity, respecting opponents, and uplifting one another. In embodying these values, student-athletes learn to see sports as serving a higher purpose—whether by inspiring others through their dedication, supporting their teammates, or contributing to a culture of fairness and respect.
Ultimately, JAM stands as a shining testament to the transformative power of sports in embodying Ignatian ideals. It is more than a competition—rivalry meets respect, athleticism merges with altruism, and the ultimate prize is not a trophy. Still, the formation of leaders committed to carrying Jesuit values into the broader world, making a lasting impact on their communities and beyond.
