September 8, special non-working holiday in Digos City

THE Malacañan Palace declared September 8, 2025, a Special Non-Working Holiday in Digos City to mark their 25th Founding Anniversary. 

Through Proclamation No. 992, September 8 is declared a Special Non-Working Holiday for the Araw ng Digos.   

"It is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Digos be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration," the proclamation said. 

The proclamation was signed by Executive Lucas P. Bersamin on August 8, 2025.  

In a Facebook post, the grand opening ceremony is on August 15, 2025, at Rizal Park in Digos City. The 25-day celebration is a tribute to the city's journey and heritage. 

"This August 15, 2025, join us at Rizal Park Grounds as we open the 25-day celebration of the 25th Araw ng Digos – a grand tribute to the city's journey and the heritage that makes us truly iconic," Araw ng Digos City wrote in the Facebook post. 

There is also a Mangrove Planting on August 15, 2025, at Punta Biao, the Taboan & Agri-Trade Fair from August 15 to September 8, 2025, at Rizal Park, Tagisan ng Tinig, and the Mutya ng Digos 2025. 

The Araw ng Digos features fun activities with a unique lechon parade, traditional street dancing, trade fairs, and sports.
