Slater Young, Kryz Uy share realities of parenthood

Parenthood is often painted as a picture-perfect journey — adorable giggles, heartwarming milestones and a love that grows deeper every day. But for celebrity couple Slater Young and Kryz Uy, the reality has been far more complex, humbling and transformative.

In a recent episode of their “Sky Podcast,” the vlogger couple opened up about pregnancy, parenting and partnership — revealing a side of family life rarely seen on social media. From pregnancy scares to emotional breakdowns, their candid conversation offered an honest take on the highs and lows of raising kids.

Kryz, who recently gave birth to their third child, admitted she thought her third pregnancy would be the easiest.

“I thought it was going to be a walk in the park, honestly, but alas, no, it wasn’t as easy as I thought,” she said.

Despite two previous pregnancies, this one brought unexpected exhaustion and the challenge of chasing two active toddlers while carrying another baby.

One of the scariest moments came during a check-up when her baby’s movements slowed.

“The doctor poked and prodded, but he wouldn’t move. It’s either ang sarap-sarap ng tulog niya, or is something wrong? Even if the doctor says it’s just for ‘peace of mind,’ as a parent, you spiral. You think of the worst,” she said.

Slater, in a meeting at the time, received Kryz’s text: “Yung baby hindi gumagalaw.” Though he stayed calm, he admitted to feeling instant panic. Tests later showed the baby was fine — but the moment reminded them how fragile parenthood can feel.

These days, they laugh at how naive they were. “We used to say, ‘Our kids will have aesthetic, neutral-themed rooms.’ Now? There are toys in the bathroom,” Slater said.

Fatherhood changed Slater’s goals, too. “Before Scottie, I wasn’t ambitious. Now I tell myself, if I want to be a better father, I need to level up as well,” he said.

In a world where social media shows only the highlights, Slater and Kryz’s honesty is a breath of fresh air. For anyone deep in the chaos of parenthood, their message is clear: You’re not alone. (Glae Ann Richardson, Spamast)
