Ateneo, Amces, Olfai shine

ATENEO de Davao University (Addu) ruled the secondary division while Anthony and Mark Cavanis Elementary School (Amces) and Our Lady of Fatima Academy, Inc. (Olfai) shared top honors in elementary category of the recently-concluded Davao Association of Catholic Schools (Dacs) 2018 Sportsfest athletics competition at the Fr. Martinez Sports Center, Addu, in Matina.

Ateneo collected a total of seven golds, one silver and two bronzes in secondary boys while Philippine Women's College of Davao got one gold and four bronzes to place second. Olfai had a 0-3-0 medal count for third followed by 0-2-1 Holy Cross of College (HCC) Babak and 0-1-1 HCC Bunawan.

In secondary girls, Ateneo tracksters accounted for six golds, six silvers and two bronzes while HCC (2-1-4), Olfai (1-1-3) and Assumption-Peñaplata (0-1-0) trailed behind.

Patrick Dimailig (secondary boys 5,000 meters), Ana Juliana Curayag (secondary girls 3,000m, 200m), Alexis Randy Cañedo (secondary boys shot put), Lesly Camilet (secondary girls shot put), Josie Enrique Mempin (secondary boys 1,500m), David Familar (secondary boys 400m), Yesha Loke (secondary girls 400m), Lyle Marcos (secondary boys 200m, 100m), Iannah Mae Gentallan (secondary girls 1,500m), Abby Mabitag (secondary boys 800m), Maria Mempin (secondary girls 800m) and Nicole Suello (secondary girls 400m) won Ateneo's golds.

Ateneo also copped the golds in boys and girls secondary 4x300m relay and 4x100m relay events.

Amces (6-4-3), meanwhile, bested Ateneo (1-4-3) and Olfai (1-2-2) in elementary boys even as Olfai elementary girls team hauled five golds, one silver and one bronze. Amces (2-4-4) and Ateneo (1-2-2) placed second and third, respectively.
