IVAN Awid, who placed runner-up in the Datba Monthly February Finals tournament recently, emerged champion in the Datba Weekly Tournament held Tuesday evening at the SM Lanang Premier Bowling Center in Lanang, Davao City.
Awid, with a handicap of 15, hit a total of 624 pinfalls after three games to rule the weekly event that serves qualifying for the monthly finals.
He outclassed ABS-CBN anchor Paul Palacio (30) who amassed 618 pinfalls and optometrist Virgilio Magdale (24) who garnered 602 pinfalls.
Awid pocketed a cash prize of P900 while Palacio settled with P600 in the Davao Tenpin Bowlers Association (Datba)-organized meet that drew a total of 15 players.
