THE Filipinas Ballroom Amateur League (Fiba-Al) and the Sports Development Division-City Mayor's Office (SDD-CMO) will hold the 33rd Kadayawan Festival Open Ballroom Competition 2018 that will unfurl on August 17 at The Annex Events Center of SM City Davao.

The event was earlier set on August 12 but was moved due to the venue's unavailability.
"Holiday din po kasi ang August 17 kaya mas marami pong makakajoin sa event," he said.
Cortez, however, said powerhouse teams from different regions of Mindanao will showcase their best performances.
The Zamboanga Dancesport Team, Butuan Dancesport Team, Digos City Davao del Sur Dancesport Team, Tacurong Dancesport Team, MPCES Tagum Dancesport Team, Koronadal Dancesport Team, North Cotabato Dancesport Team, Mati Davao Oriental Dancesport Team, Bukidnon City Dancesport Team, Notre Dame General Santos City Danceport Team and Sta Cruz Dancesport team confirmed their entries.
Davao City's FM Dance Academy Toril, Davao City National High School Team, Tibungco Team, Studio L Team, Davao Doctors College Team and Davao City Dancesport Team will also vie for honors.
Categories entered are standard, Latin-American, solo male category, solo female category, synchronized make Latin category, synchronized female Latin category, special event standard, special event Latin and introducing the LGBT rainbow games 5-dance Latin.
Over P175,000 cash prizes are at stake.
