ROSHUA Adela Daclan and Dave Torres of Davao Doctors College are representing the Philippines in the 8th TDA Dancesport Championships 2018 featuring Asia Inter-Tertiary Dancesport Championships which opened Saturday at the Singapore Polytechnic in Singapore.
The Daclan-Torres pair, who recently ruled the dancesport competitions of the National Private School Athletic Association (Prisaa) 2018 in Bohol City and Palarong Pambansa 2018 in Vigan City, is upbeat about their biggest competition.
“We feel blessed for being here but a little bit nervous and excited,” Daclan, in a Facebook chat with SunStar Davao, said.
The formidable duo, coached by Ana Yango, would like to take their skills to a higher level.
Daclan said they prepared for their international debut stint.
“We always make sure that we are always prepared. We trained everyday after class then we also worked out,” the 17-year-old said.
She added that the National Prisaa and Palarong Pambansa exposure help boost their confidence.
They entered the modern standard event that has six categories which includes the tertiary III, tertiary IIA, tertiary IIB, open III, open IIA and open IIB.
