THE Davao Regional Football Association (DRFA) girls 14 and boys 16 teams booked national finals berths after topping their respective divisions in the recently-concluded Allianz National Youth Futsal Invitational Mindanao Finals held at the Davao City Multi-Purpose Sports Complex in the University of the Philippines (UP) Mintal campus.
The national tournament will be held on June 22 in Sta. Cruz, Laguna.
The DRFA lady booters posted a 4-3 win over Roxas Football Club in the championship game behind the heroics of Cielo Camangyan who netted all four goals.
The DRFA boys team survived past Lianga Football Club of Surigao del Sur, 3-2, via penalty shootout.
Christian Ranchez, Joshua Romero and Jericho Romero knocked in one goal each. DRFA goalkeeper Chrisjan Niño Tambilawan was instrumental to the victory.
Dipolog Football Club (boys 14) and Zandifa-Watashi of Zamboanga City (girls 16) will also advanced to the nationals having defeated their respective opponents.
