DC Athletics Open kicks off

THE action starts at 6 a.m. on Saturday, August 26, in the 38th Kadayawan sa Davao 2023 Davao City Athletics Open unfurls at the University of Mindanao (UM) track oval.

Davao City Track and Field Association (DCTFA) president Kenneth Sai said at least 300 entries are competing in the two-day competition organized as part of the 38th Kadayawan Sports Festival.

Dr. Guillermo P. Torres Jr., Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association (Patafa) executive vice president and regional director, and Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office (SDD-CMO) are guests in the opening rites set at 10 a.m. They will give inspirational messages along with Davao City Councilor Pilar Braga.

Dabawenyo tracksters will battle for honors in 16 events against entries from Dagupan City, General Santos City, Davao del Sur, Davao del Norte, Cagayan de Oro, and Leyte Sports Academy.

They are entered in 14 to 16 years old and 17 above categories.
