De Asis champion in DC2DC marathon

ARCHIE de Asis of the Panabo Runners Club (PRC) was crowned as champion in the organized 5th edition DC2DC Ultramarathon that came to a close Sunday morning at the People’s Park.

De Asis finished the 60-kilometer race from Digos City to Davao City in four hours, 55 minutes and 48 seconds to rule the men's division of the event organized by Team Kapwa Davao, a Davao-based runner's club.

The policeman from Panabo City raced past Ryan Baldomino (5:32.51), Molly Gulfan (5:44.55), Ariel Nguho (6:06.09) and Angelito Virtudazo (6:19.58), who occupied the next four places.

The champion, in an interview, said he really prepared for the race.

"Medyo naka-prepare kasi katatapos lang namin mag-triathlon kaya tinuloy ko na ang ensayo.'

He is also happy with his time.

"Mas bumaba yung time ko ngayon kasi noon medyo mahirap yung race kasi madaming malalakas," de Asis, who is set to race next in the Samal50 Trail Run this coming October, said.
