Grassroots basketball opens on May 19

MARK Anthony Construction and Supply in partnership with Cherrylume will hold the Future Star League grassroots basketball tournament set to open on May 19 at the Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) Gym.

The league aims to open doors for aspiring cagers eight to 10 years old (rising kids) and 11 to 12 years (elite kids) old to experience basketball this summer.

Teams from Ateneo de Davao University, University of Immaculate Concepcion, San Pedro College, Philippine Women's College, Magallanes Elementary School, Ford Academy of the Arts, Davao Christian High School and San Juan Elementary School confirmed to join the cagefest.

Mark Anthony Cayetano, re-elected barangay captain of Barangay 10-A and also president of the Mark Anthony Construction and Supply, organized the tournament to give opportunity to basketball teams, particularly in the eight to 10 age-group as competitions in this age group are rare.

Games will be played at the Brokenshire College of Davao. (ABM)
