Norte, Dasargo bag overall triathlon titles

BANJO Norte and Kristine Joy Dasargo shared top honors in the recently concluded Tri Right Mindanao Kadayawan Multisport Weekend held in Davao City.

Norte, of Amai Manabilang Triathlon, ruled the overall male Olympic distance triathlon by clocking three hours, four minutes, and 43 seconds.

He bested Brian Borling of Tri SND Barracuda (2:05:54) and Noel Jeffrey Cabrera Jr. of Team OHA (2:08:35), who finished second and third, respectively.

Dasargo, for her part, clinched the overall female Olympic distance title with 2:44:48. She raced past Alessandra Ysabel Aquino (2:53:29) and Rara Yacine Torres (2:58:34).

The Triathlon Association of Davao (Triad) bets Angelo Rafael de Vera (male 13-15 aquathlon), Ana Palconit (female 35-39), Luzvisminda Pine (female 50-54), and Haidee Digma (women's 50-above) topped their respective events.

Dabawenyo De Vera, according to organizer Stax Savellano, was the fastest aquathlon athlete among the other entries. Thus, De Vera will see action in the National AG Aquathlon set on October 15 in Vermosa, Imus Cavite.

The other champions were: Loneco Pacudan of R and R Tri Team (male 18-24), Von Jovi Labanon of Tri Davsur (male 25-29), Jesseca Bayoyos (female 25-29), Elys Kenneth Miguel of Team Godspeed Multisport (male 30-34), Maylene Catolico of Tri Generals (female 30-34), Romeo Christopher Cabulao of Eight700 Triathlon (male 35-39), Geoffrey Dionisio of Tri Generals (male 40-44), Ellen Avanzado of Eight700 Triathlon (female 40-44), Irecson Casteel of Tri Davsur (male 45-49), Ivy Amadeo of Tri Generals (male 45-49), Jeff Samuel Babol of Tri Zonemats 5 (male 50-54), and Richard Cagape of Team Tritans (male 55-above).

In the relay mixed, the TDN CON-Steel Builders trio of Bianca Mae Bansag, Tito Nasol Jr., and Anthony Amoyen captured the title.

The event was organized as part of the city government-funded 38th Kadayawan Sports Festival. MLSA
