THE Awesome OS volleybelles shocked defending champion Alorica 25-12, 22-25, 25-19, in the resumption of the Davao Inter-BPO League (DIBL) volleyball tournament held at the Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) Gym over the weekend.
Awesome OS leaned on the exceptional effort of Micha Zafra who finished with 11 points including seven attacks and four service aces.
The win brought them to the top spot with a 5-1 win-loss slate while Alorica tasted its first defeat and dropped to the second spot with 4-1 in the ongoing volleyfest sanctioned by Balibolista de Dabaw.
In the men's side, Sutherland escaped Ibex Global 25-23, 25-23, behind Renelo Villanueva who launched eight markers.
Defending champion Alorica men's team kept its unblemished slate by surviving past Teleperformane, 25-14, 24-26, 25-19.
VXI, meanwhile, beat over Flatword Solutions via default.
The final round of eliminations is slated this Sunday at the same venue.
