P1-M cash, car as GET golf prizes

A WHOPPING P1-million cash and a brand new Mistubushi Mirage G4 sedan await hole-in-one winners when the 30th Guillermo E. Torres (GET) Open golf tournament tees off on Sunday at the Apo Golf and Country Club.

This was bared by GET open golf tournament coordinators Fritz Tan and Jinggo Camomot in the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum held at The Annex of SM City Davao Thursday, June 7.

The longest-running open golf tournament in Mindanao will also benefit its long-time beneficiary, the scholars of Mount Apo Science Foundation.

"All of the proceeds will be given to the foundation. We will actually turn the proceeds to the beneficiaries during the awarding rites," Camomot said.

The tournament will follow an 18-hole modified scoring system format for the Class A, B, C and Ladies divisions.

They target 300 participants to break last year's record of 280 entries.

The registration is pegged at P2,000 inclusive of a mulligan.

Registration is ongoing at the Apo Golf and Country Club and at the University of Mindanao Broadcasting Network office. (ABM)
