RMC Davao United, CR7 pace bootfest

THE Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) Davao United and CR7 Food Truck remained unbeaten after four games to lead their respective divisions as the Philam Life 7’s Football League Davao resumed at Azuela Cove field in Lanang, Davao City over the weekend.

Ian delos Reyes lifted RMC Davao United’s 6-2 win over FCFC while his teammate John Mark Diamat powered their squad’s 6-3 victory over Orlando Football Club (FC).

The twin feat, thus, kept RMC Davao United on top of the men’s open team standings with a total of 12 points followed by Orlando FC (nine) in second. Six-pointers RMC Rookie, Solido FC, CR7 and Davraa trailed behind were Cathiana Hearts and FCFC has yet to score a win after four matches.

In other games, Jason Mortillero-led CR7 edged Cathiana Hearts, 4-3; Orlando FC routed Solido FC, 5-1; Davraa booters toppled RMC Rookie, 4-1, before blanking CR7, 1-0; and RMC Rookie outlasted FCFC, 6-5.

Meanwhile, CR7 eked out wins over Ateneo (9-0) behind the heroics of Venice Lumapac and Solido FC (3-0) to retain the lead in women’s open division with 12 points after four straight wins without a draw nor a loss.

Solido FC (nine) came second while three-pointers D’DS Khanj, RMC FC and Ateneo grabbed the next three spots while winless Rebels struggled at the bottom.

Moira Calizo, for her part, took charge of D’DS Khanj’s 3-1 triumph over the Rebels only succumbing to RMC FC, 0-2, in a later game.

Solido FC also crushed the Rebels, 5-1, in the bootfest sanctioned by Davao South Regional Football Association.

Grassroots divisions current leaders are Rovers FC (mixed 9, 12 points), NUFC (mixed 11 bracket A, 15 points), Panabo United (mixed 11 bracket B, 12 points), RMC FC (boys 13, nine points), Southshield FC Blue and Ateneo JHS-A (boys 15, 12 points each).
