THE SOS Children's Village Davao (SCVD), Davao Durians Rugby Football Club and Cebu Lady Dragons annexed titles in the 33rd Kadayawan Get Into Rugby (GIR) Rugby Football Festival held over the weekend at the Ateneo de Davao University (Addu) Grade School.

The SCVD, led by most valuable player (MVP) Roscoe Hans Rivero, demolished University of Mindanao (UM), 21-0, in the finals to clinch the Durians Tag League title.

The Davao Durians, for its part, blanked Dadiangas Generals, 2-0, in men's rugby 7's championship as Uldarico Bande Jr. romped away with the MVP honors.

The visiting Cebu Lady Dragons, meanwhile, relied on Jelamei Gesulga, who was crowned the MVP, to beat Davao Lady Durians, 10-7.

The tournament, presented by the city government of Davao in partnership with Philippine Rugby Football Union, Mindanao Rugby Football Development Inc. and Davao Durians Ruby Football Club, will resume on Saturday and Sunday at the University of Mindanao ROTC field.
