The Our Lady of Peñafrancia Chapel, a GKK (Basic Ecclesial Community) under the San Alfonso Maria de Liguori Parish in Mandug, proudly announces the return of its annual fundraising event: Takbo Peñafrancia: RUN with HUE Year III.
First launched in 2023, this vibrant and colorful run is an initiative of the Our Lady of Peñafrancia Chapel Youth Ministry. It brings together the youth and the wider community to support chapel projects. This year’s run is set for September 13, 2025, at the Phase 1 Gym, Deca Homes Esperanza, Tigatto, Davao City, in anticipation of the chapel's Patronal Fiesta on September 20, 2025.
More than just a fun and colorful event, Takbo Peñafrancia aims to promote physical fitness and offer a joyful way to celebrate the chapel’s patron feast. It serves as a unique expression of faith, community spirit, and wellness.
Proceeds from the run will go toward the ongoing construction, improvement, and beautification of the chapel.This year, part of the funds will also support charitable causes aligned with Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’ goals, especially the “response to the cry of the poor.”
The chapel is also home to the 10th Official Replica of the Poong Jesus Nazareno, enshrined from the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno in Quiapo, Manila—making it a special site of devotion and pilgrimage in the local community.
This annual event showcases the strong leadership and dedication of the Youth Ministry, which continues to unite parishioners, families, and sponsors in their shared mission of service and compassion.
